Sprinting round the castle.

It’s not every day you have a world cup competition on your doorstep.
The yearly Royal Palace Sprint (where they sprint on skis around the Royal Palace…) took place in Stockholm today.

It’s fun to see the competitors jogging along the cobblestone alleys of the Old Town in a delightfully out of place way warming up before the race. They are amazingly fit. Sometimes they get a little lost; today I helped one of the Norwegian competitors find her way back to the palace just in time for the race to begin.

They hills around the Palace are steep, they are tough enough to surmount on foot – but on skis!…
